The illustrations of the 38th Foot in Burma, 1824, and an anti-aircraft detachment in 1941 were produced for Military Illustrated to accompany articles written by the artist. The originals are A3 in size and are reduced to A4 in the magazine. The medium is gouache.
A central requirement for the commission for "The Briefing" was that while it avoids histrionics and reflects the day to day work of an Intelligence unit it should be lively and stimulating.
The original is in oils on canvas and a limited edition print was produced for the client.
